Teachers are always trying to find new ideas to engage their students more effectively. Here is one such attempt. The group involved is a GCSE ICT class of 24. The intention is basically two fold; to use it as a forum for students to discuss their project work and for me, thier teacher, to submit postings. For example, throwing out a question about their project or syllabus that provokes or elicits responses. I also intend dropping in some quizzes from time to time.

My work experience was great. I was at Hawkins Motors LTD. in Hayle. I had fun because I got on with everyone.
My work experience was great thanks Mr. T!
Unfortunately i was ill for the second week :(
How was life without us?
Work experience was very relaxing, it was less work than being in school but its good to be back, I was starting to miss the company of people my own age.
I worked in an office for my work experience. I went to one of their social events aswell. It was really enjoyable and I got on well with everyone. I met lots of new people on my work experience. It was deffinitely worthwhile.
I did my work experience at St Pirans School in the Nursery working with 3 and 4 year olds. It was really fun and the kids were really cute. I knew some of the other kids as I went to the school. I made some new friends as well. I think my work experience was really worthwhile and if I had the chance I would definetley do it again.
worked with my father inside the Parker Hanford factory in Redruth. Although some of the tasks I had were dead boring (which included hitting nuts with a hammer), overall i had a great time.
One thing I learnt from my work experience is that I don't want to be in the engineering trade. Guess that leaves 99odd more trades to consider.
work experience was great fun.I worked at Hawkins motors in Hayle.I was working in the sales department.I got on with everyone well and really enjoyed it!
My work experience was good first i visited truro county court which was interesting and i met with a judge. The second week i went to the cycle centre where i helped the mechanics with minor jobs in the work shop we also discussed important issues such as whether the chocolate is on the top or the bottom of a chocolate digestive this caused alot of arguments and was very funny.
In the end we emailed Mc Vities to find out.
My Work Experience was really good although I went to Penpol School.
I was the class assistantant for many different classes and enjoyed every moment of it.
I dont think that I would like to become a teacher because you are really tired at the end of the day and your social life goes down the drain (apparently.
I would love to do it again but for a little while longer.
I didnt want to come back to school.
Work experience was ok but some of the jobs at a hotel are tedius and boring. one thing i learned is that i never want to be a kp. the kitchens way to hot.
Work experience was great because i didn't have to get to work until 10 so i didn't have to get up as early as i would if i was at school and it was also great because i got on with everyone.
My work experience was super. I worked at Tree Meadow Trout Fishery and i mainly fished all day. But when i wsn't i was maintaining the two lakes that layed across 4.5 achers of land in Fraddam.
i only did one week of work experience and was at school for the second week and it was ok but a bit boring
I spent two weeks at St. Mary's Haven Residential Home. I worked in the office mainly managing the finances in the business. On the last day I had to create a business card for publicity reasons, which we had already had to do in ict, so it was nice to be given work with which I knew what I was doing.
i went to pensans school in penzance for my work experience.i worked in a class with my step-sister with four to five year olds. we went on various different class trips which i enjoyed. i enjoyed working and teaching the children espically i liked helping them with reading.on the tuesday off the second week we had a sports day. it was really fun watching and helping the children. it was nice to see their faces when they recieved a certificate from me and stickers. there faces were soooo cute :)we went on a scholl trip to newquay aquarium and i had to have a group of three and hold there hands.it was a really good day for them and they were there all day asking about the animals.the mums were coming in saying there children were never stop going on about me! it was sad as i knew i was only there for a little way. the staff were so friendly and so i bout a box of chocolates a card and bags of sweets for the children. they all made me feel so welcome. i didnt like it to be honest as this made it harder to leave :(
the only thing i didnt like was the actual SAYING GOODBYE! i hated satying goodbye and all the girls were crying telling me not to leave. i really thought beofre i started work experience it was going to be boring. im not saying it isnt hard because it really is hard but its worth it and definitely worth doing. the people that didnt find a placement should be really disapointed. the scholl have said i can visit anytime i want and that is a definite must!! :) now i no i definitely want to be a teacher when i get older. i would only teach the young ones though. when i go to camborne college i will be doing 'early years' level 3. i knew i was going to teach but the work experience helped me to make my mind up.
I just wrote long paragraphs about how great my work experience was...
Suprise suprise I lost everything!
So here we go...
I worked at Tate St Ives, it was really enjoyable, I found it useful... This is probably going to die anyway..
So there is not much point in carrying on!
I wish I didn't have to return to school!
I think that my work experience went really well. i work at Connor downs primary school for the full two weeks. i was working with four to five year olds. i really enjoyed it but i don't think that i will become a teacher because i can not handle the head ach and the worry about if the children are ok or not. on the second monday the infant children had their sports day it was a real laugh, except i was stuck on badges and pricked my finger numerus times it the children all came running to see if i was ok. but over all the best bit was the reception social event where the children made scones for their parents and preformed cornish dancing then they had scones with cream and jam. i took loads of pictures and managed to break the camera but Jaccs the TA said it happens all the time so i felt a lot better about that.
the children didn't want me to go. i also didn't want to go. the head teacher wished my luck. it was a bit upsetting having to leave. i bonded with one little girl really well and she had a few tears when i had to go but i promised i would go back and visit then i am at the end of year eleven.
work experience was good.we went round all sorts of different primary schools and taught then p.e. but it wasnt always practical work.we sometimes had to do work like planning and organising.
It Seems like everyone is happy with their work experience so thats good.
